Cojo - Fantastic, Stockton Arena - not so much
I have seen Cody Johnson twice now, and each time it has been a fantastic show. No performer in the so-called Nashville country comes close to matching his songs, his band, or his shows. Dynamic performance, great music, great band - CoJo was everything I've come to expect, having seen The Garcia Project - Tribute to Jerry Garcia before. The venue, Stockton Arena, had multiple problems. Even though we arrived more than 30 minutes before the concert was scheduled to begin, we didn't get inside the arena until after the opening act was almost finished. Lines were so long at the concessions that 20-30 minute waits were normal. They finally gave up any semblance of security, I saw people walk through the metal detector, have it go off, and no one even passed a wand over them. There were not enough people working the entrance, so everything was extremely backed up. And as for checking for COVID vaccine or negative test, they gave that up about 20 minutes into opening the doors. It would take another Cody Johnson show before I would venture back to the Stockton Arena.
